Want to add more character & punch to the 808 kicks in your tracks? In this video, learn how to add top-end attack, distortion, and clean up a muddy mix by sidechaining your 808 kick and bass.
Download these free presets for the Smack Attack Transient Shaper, Manny Marroquin Distortion, F6 Floating-Band Dynamic EQ and the plugin chain for StudioRack:
To load these presets:
- Download the file: ‘Harder_808s.zip’
- Extract and the .XPS preset files from the zip folder
- In the plugin menu, Select ‘Load’
- ‘Open Preset File…’
- Find the location of the extracted .XPS preset files:
"Smack_808_Attack.xps", "Manny_808.xps", "F6_808K_Bass_SC.xps", and "808_SR.xps" - Select the '_____.xps’
- Click ‘Open’
To save each preset in your plugin menu:
- Select ‘Save’ in the plugin menu
- Select ‘Put into Preset Menu As…'
- Choose the existing name or a new preset name
- Hit ‘Ok’
