Last updated on: 10/18/2021 8:02:13 AM

This page presents general support notes and known issues, some with workarounds, with Waves computers such as Axis One and Axis Proton.

We will update this page on an ongoing basis as issues are solved.

We encourage you to contact Waves Live Support and report any issue you may encounter.

Table of Contents:

  1. Axis One and Proton – General Notes
  2. Axis One and Proton - Known Issues

Axis One and Axis Proton – General Notes

  • Axis One and Proton have a default Windows system restore point enabled. Learn how to restore an Axis computer with System Restore Point here.
  • Axis computers run an embedded version of Windows 10 called ‘LTSC’, which receives security updates only.
  • We recommend shutting your Axis down via Windows’ ‘shut down’ command and not via the rack power switch.
  • Recommended Network Settings for a SoundGrid Network:
    • Services:
      • Waves SoundGrid: enabled.
      • Ipv6: enabled.
      • All other options: disabled.
    • Advanced:
      • Interrupt moderation: Off
      • Flow Control: Off
      • Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE): Off
      • Link Speed Battery Saver: Disabled
  • Wi-Fi
    • In order to connect an Axis computer to Wi-Fi, plug it into a Wi-Fi router via the Ethernet port, or use a USB-Wi-Fi dongle.
  • Software and Updates
    • Axis computers come pre-installed with Windows 10.
    • Axis computers come pre-installed with the latest versions of Waves Central, eMotion LV1, SuperRack and all Waves plugins. (Please note that in order to activate and use any of the pre-installed plugins, you would need to purchase their licenses).
    • All Waves software updates, software installation and licensing are managed by Waves Central. (Please note that this applies only to Waves software updates, not to updates of any other software on the computer).
    • Windows security updates are deployed monthly by Microsoft and are required for keeping a secure system. An update installation can be delayed by the user up to 30 days from its deployment. Other Windows updates are disabled by default.
  • Warranty and Modifications
    • Axis computers are covered under a 1-year warranty.
    • Opening an Axis computer's casing or modifying the hardware in any way will void warranty.
  • USB and Display Adapters
    • Axis computers feature USB2, USB3 and USB-C ports.
    • USB to Ethernet adapters are not supported.
    • Axis computers feature 1 Display Port, 2 HDMI ports and support up to 3 displays using the built-in ports. Using display adapters is not supported.
  • Racking
    • Axis computers can be mounted on a rack in one of two ways:
      • Using rack ears (sold separately)
      • Using a rack-shelf for Axis One or Axis Proton (sold separately) that allows mounting two Axis computers side by side, or an Axis computer and a type-C SoundGrid server side by side
  • Other Notes
    • MultiRack v9 is supported with Waves v10 plugins only. It is not pre-installed.
    • Tracks Live is not officially supported with Axis computers.
    • SoundGrid Studio v9 is not officially supported with Axis computers.
    • Third-party audio interfaces were not tested and are not officially supported with Axis computers.
    • SoundGrid networks only support the default states of native Windows Antivirus and Firewall applications.
    • SoundGrid Networks do not support any 3rd party Antivirus, Firewall or Network Management software.
    • If Team Viewer is needed for a session with our Technical Support, the WavesQS Team Viewer application is pre-installed in Desktop > Utilities.

Axis One and Proton - Known Issues

  • Older Axis One and Proton images do not have system restore point enabled by default.
  • If you are running eMotion LV1 on an Axis One or Proton computer, or any other computer with Intel® UHD Graphics card, and experience a GUI flicker when moving to full screen, follow these steps to update the Intel graphics driver version.
