You can update your Waves products to the latest version, as long as they are covered by Waves Update Plan. If your products are not covered, you can renew coverage here. You can also update to the latest version by upgrading to a more comprehensive Waves bundle. All new purchases and upgrades include one full year of the Waves Update Plan.

A Guide to Waves Versions and Updates

Please note: Waves V11, V10 and V9 software can run on the same system, as long as two versions (e.g., V10 and V11) of the same plugin are not installed simultaneously. Each plugin should only be installed as either V9, V10 or V11. For example: It is OK to install V11 of the J37 plugin and V10 of the CLA-2A plugin on the same computer. However, you should not install V11 of J37 and V10 of J37 on the same computer.

In certain cases, installing V11 alongside V9 may cause temporary loss of access to the V9 plugins on systems that do support both versions. We are aware of this issue and it can be repaired by reinstalling the V9 plugins or contacting Tech Support.
First, to see all your Waves licenses, go to the My Products page on the Waves website. Log in to your Waves account (if you are not already logged in). On this page you will see your various bundle and plugin licenses, segmented by their license versions.
Below are three license version scenarios. Each scenario includes a few secondary scenarios, such as activation and Waves Update Plan status.
Pick your scenario from the list of questions below, and they will take you to the instructions you need:

All of my licenses are Version 11.x.

Some of my licenses are Version 11.x and some are Version 9.x or 10.x.

All of my licenses are Version 9.x or 10.x.

If you have never installed or activated a license on your current system, or haven't done so in a while, download the latest version of Waves Central here.
If the Updates Available button at the top of the screen appears, this means that there are free software updates available for your existing software version.
This will only update internal sub-versions, meaning, for example, a software update from V11.0.2 to V11.0.3, and not from V10 to V11.
  • Click the Updates Available button. All products for which updates are available will be selected and shown in the list on the right.
  • When you’re ready, click Update
  • All items in the products list for which updates are available will be selected and shown in the list on the right. Please note: Updating software is an all-or-nothing affair: select any product that’s ready for update, and all ‘update-ready’ products will be selected. You can review the list in the inspector on the right.
  • If any product's license is activated but not installed, select it.
  • Click Update or Install and Update. All Waves products that are already on your computer will be installed. An update does not affect your license, only the software.
