This page will help you determine if your system specifications meet the requirements to run various versions of Waves Plugins, Waves Central, and Waves applications including eMotion LV1, SuperRack, SuperRack Performer, SoundGrid Driver, SoundGrid Rack for VENUE, SoundGrid Studio and Tracks Live.

- Currently, having a Windows user account name that includes non-English characters may prompt a Waveshell error message while scanning V13 plugins in your DAW. We are working on a fix for this issue.
  Workaround: Create a new Admin user account with English characters only, then install and run the plugins on the new user account.

Important Notes:
Starting with Mac OS Ventura, network timing & priority infrastructure introduced some changes, affecting SoundGrid driver performance. As a result, using Apple computers for recording or playback with the SoundGrid driver may exhibit intermittent audio dropouts. Apple and Waves are working in collaboration towards fixing this issue, however until resolved, we recommend using Windows computers for recording and playback with the SoundGrid driver. If the outputs of a DiGiGrid D / Q / M interface are patched to a Soundgrid Driver, audio will not pass if the Driver Network Buffer is set to 1024 samples in the Soundgrid host application. Workaround: change the driver’s network buffer to 512 or lower.

We have found a compatibility issue where our SoundGrid applications (eMotion LV1, SuperRack, SoundGrid Studio) may not pass audio after updating to macOS 11.3 on systems running an application named ‘Cisco FireAMP’ (part of an enterprise IT management tool).
If you do not have ‘Cisco FireAMP’ installed, you may update to macOS 11.3 safely, without concern. If you do have this application and experience this issue in your SoundGrid application after updating to macOS 11.3, disabling the AMP network extension feature will resolve the issue.

SoundGrid is a ‘private’ network: in order to have a clean network stream, the SoundGrid network should not be used to run any non-SoundGrid applications. Please note: When using the SoundGrid Connect feature, the only local devices supported in eMotion LV1 v11 are the built-in output of macOS X Core Audio and built-in Windows drivers (with ASIO4ALL).

Bucket View in the CLA MixHub plugin is currently not supported in eMotion LV1.
When mapping CLA MixHub to the Channel overview window, graphic errors may show in the overview display.
Installing eMotion LV1 v10 will update all SoundGrid firmware (interfaces and servers) and drivers to v10, which is not compatible with SoundGrid v9 software. To also use MultiRack SoundGrid or SoundGrid Studio, you will need to switch between v10 and v9 SoundGrid firmware and drivers.
We highly recommend using the following qualified systems:

SoundGrid is a ‘private’ network: in order to have a clean network stream, the SoundGrid network should not be used to run any non-SoundGrid applications. Using non-SoundGrid protocols on the same network that carries SoundGrid audio might result in audio drops, application freezes, and other unexpected results.
Installing SuperRack v12 will update all SoundGrid firmware (interfaces and servers) and drivers to v12, which is not compatible with SoundGrid v9 software. To also use MultiRack SoundGrid or SoundGrid Studio, you will need to switch between v12 and v9 SoundGrid firmware and drivers.
SoundGrid host applications must be aligned to the same version for Device Sharing.
OS X users: When launching SuperRack, you might experience a brief flicker. This occurs when SuperRack adjusts the computer’s screen resolution and color scheme to its requirements. Upon quitting SuperRack, the screen will revert to the previous resolution and color scheme.
For best performance of audio transport from the SoundGrid Core Audio Driver to the SoundGrid network, Apple computers should use one of the following adapters:

Sonnet Solo 10GB Thunderbolt 3-to-Ethernet Adapter (Type C connector)

We have found a compatibility issue where our SoundGrid applications (eMotion LV1, SuperRack, SoundGrid Studio) may not pass audio after updating to macOS 11.3 on systems running an application named ‘Cisco FireAMP’ (part of an enterprise IT management tool).
If you do not have ‘Cisco FireAMP’ installed, you may update to macOS 11.3 safely, without concern. If you do have this application and experience this issue in your SoundGrid application after updating to macOS 11.3, disabling the AMP network extension feature will resolve the issue.

For some systems it is advisable to use a secondary computer for recording/playback. This provides optimal CPU and disk performance on the primary computer that is running SuperRack.

All SoundGrid servers are supported, except DiGiGrid DGS-XL (not sold by Waves), which is neither certified nor supported for use with SuperRack.

As a result, using Apple computers for recording or playback with the SoundGrid driver may exhibit intermittent audio dropouts. Apple and Waves are working in collaboration towards fixing this issue, however until resolved, we recommend using Windows computers for recording and playback with the SoundGrid driver. When using the built-in Mac driver with SoundGrid Connect for StudioRack SoundGrid processing, the Mac driver must be selected as the playback engine in your DAW. Patching to the built-in Mac driver from the SoundGrid network is currently not supported.
PC users – WDM drivers are supported only if your system includes at least one SoundGrid audio interface; they are not supported if you are only using a non-SoundGrid interface via SoundGrid Connect.
MultiRack and eMotion LV1 are currently not supported. We are working on making them compatible with SoundGrid Connect in the near future.

- Running Waves on VENUE 7.0 requires your S6L to have 8GB of RAM. Older S6L control surfaces from 2019 and earlier use a now-discontinued motherboard with only 4GB of RAM. For more information please contact Avid Support.
- After installing SoundGrid Rack for VENUE and restarting the console, the SoundGrid inventory may display an ‘incompatible devices’ message. Restarting the console again will solve the issue.
- After updating the WSG HD via the SG inventory, all SoundGrid Racks for VENUE might become muted. Updating the firmware again will solve this issue.
- The ‘Voices’ Meter in the SoundGrid Inventory for VENUE will display correct values only when the inventory is in focus.
- When copy/pasting plugins within the SoundGrid Rack, if pasting a plugin to an insert slot already containing a plugin, “undo” in the SoundGrid Rack toolbar may not recover the previously inserted plugin
- In plugins in which two parameters have a “link” control, if adjusting one of the parameters with encoders, changes in the linked value may not be reflected
- If switching presets in Manny Marroquin Reverb with the Waves toolbar, preset loading may be slow
- If opening SoundGrid Inventory directly from the SoundGrid Rack, there’s a chance the Inventory window will be hidden behind the SoundGrid rack window, depending on its last on-screen position. Simply click to a different tab in VENUE to reveal SoundGrid Inventory

Starting with Mac OS Ventura, network timing & priority infrastructure introduced some changes, affecting SoundGrid driver performance. As a result, using Apple computers for recording or playback with the SoundGrid driver may exhibit intermittent audio dropouts. Apple and Waves are working in collaboration towards fixing this issue, however until resolved, we recommend using Windows computers for recording and playback with the SoundGrid driver. Still, there are many systems that record/playback with Apple computers flawlessly, so we strongly suggest to review the SoundGrid Recording/Playback Tips for Apple Computers article.

Using Apple Macs to run SoundGrid host applications, such as SuperRack SoundGrid or eMotion LV1, is fully supported.

We have found a compatibility issue where our SoundGrid applications (eMotion LV1, SuperRack, SoundGrid Studio) may not pass audio after updating to macOS 11.3 on systems running an application named ‘Cisco FireAMP’ (part of an enterprise IT management tool).
If you do not have ‘Cisco FireAMP’ installed, you may update to macOS 11.3 safely, without concern. If you do have this application and experience this issue in your SoundGrid application after updating to macOS 11.3, disabling the AMP network extension feature will resolve the issue.

Latency
SoundGrid Studio Application and its SoundGrid ASIO/Core Audio driver introduce different I/O latencies depending on SoundGrid Driver Network buffer settings and the WSG Processing buffer.
Supported Audio Interfaces
SoundGrid Studio is compatible with all SoundGrid audio interfaces.
If the outputs of a DiGiGrid D / Q / M interface are patched to a Soundgrid Driver, audio will not pass if the Driver Network Buffer is set to 1024 samples in the Soundgrid host application. Workaround: change the driver’s network buffer to 512 or lower.
Supported SoundGrid Servers
All SoundGrid servers are supported, except DiGiGrid DGS-XL (not sold by Waves), which is neither certified nor supported for use with SoundGrid Studio.
For best results we highly recommend to use SoundGrid Studio with the SoundGrid Extreme Server.
SoundGrid Impact Server and DiGiGrid IOS are supported by the SoundGrid Studio 16-channel configuration at sample rates of up to 48 kHz.

Starting with Mac OS Ventura, network timing & priority infrastructure introduced some changes, affecting SoundGrid driver performance. As a result, using Apple computers for recording or playback with the SoundGrid driver may exhibit intermittent audio dropouts. Apple and Waves are working in collaboration towards fixing this issue, however until resolved, we recommend using Windows computers for recording and playback with the SoundGrid driver. Still, there are many systems that record/playback with Apple computers flawlessly, so we strongly suggest to review the SoundGrid Recording/Playback Tips for Apple Computers article.
