How to Roll Back to V10 Plugins for Soundgrid V9 Apps

Last updated on: 12/31/2019 10:03:58 AM

If you have installed V11 plugins which cannot run on MultiRack, SoundGrid Studio and StudioRack applications, here are instructions to roll your plugins back to V10/V9.

Note that V11 plugins are fully supported in SuperRack and eMotion LV1 V10. We continue to develop the SoundGrid platform and are working hard to enhance the future compatibility of Waves applications such as StudioRack and SoundGrid Studio.

If you have activated V11 licenses, no worries! They will work with your V9 and V10 plugin software.

Newly purchased (or demoed) V11 licenses will activate V10 and V9 software, as long as the products in question exist in V10 or V9 versions. To find out whether a certain plugin exists in V10 or V9 versions, visit the V10 and V9 Legacy Download pages, and scroll down to the bottom of the page.

In order to roll back from V11 to the older versions you have installed*, uninstall V11 plugins:

  1. Quit any host application.
  2. Launch Waves Central.
  3. On the left-hand side, click the Settings page.
  4. Under Maintenance, click the Uninstall drop-down menu and choose to uninstall V11 Plugins.
  1. * Only if you have manually uninstalled the V9 or V10 plugin software, you will need to reinstall it:
    • To reinstall V9 plugins refer to this article.
    • To reinstall V10 plugins:
      1. Go to the Install Products page.
      2. Go to the All Products tab, search for the product and select it.
      3. Make sure you've selected the V10 entry.
      4. Click Install in the summary column.

Finally, run the Version Organizer

  1. Go to the Settings tab
  2. Under Maintenance, locate the Version Organizer and click Run to its right.
  3. In the next window, click Run again
On Mac you will be prompted to enter your administrator password.
  4. Waves Central will now organize your plugins by version and license.
  5. Once the process is complete, click OK.

The Version Organizer will now correlate the plugin software installed on your system to the licenses you have activated.
