Apr 14, 2026

Learn how to load Sync Vx in REAPER in order to align multiple vocal tracks.

In Reaper, Sync Vx can be loaded either as a VST3 plugin or as an ARA plugin.
ARA stands for Audio Random Access, a protocol developed to improve the integration between audio plugins and DAWs (Digital Audio Workstations). It allows plugins and DAWs to exchange information about audio content and session structure seamlessly.

Sync Vx supports both formats. Follow the steps below to select and configure your preferred mode of operation:

  1. Open REAPER Preferences:
    • Mac: REAPER menu > Settings
    • Windows: Options menu > Preferences
  2. Under Plug-ins > ARA, see if “Enable ARA for plug-ins that support it” is check marked.
When it is, Sync Vx will load as an ARA plugin when inserted on a track. When it’s not, Sync Vx will load as a regular VST3 insert, and will require you to capture audio from the track. REAPER Preferences When changing the status of this feature, make sure to restart REAPER to apply the changes.
    • Please note: this setting may affect other plugins that can use ARA.

Once the settings are applied, insert Sync Vx on the tracks following the steps below. Sync Vx aligns audio from multiple tracks, so you’ll need to load it on each track you wish to sync.

  1. Select an audio track you wish to sync using Sync VX.
  2. Open the FX menu and search for Sync Vx – it will appear under the VST3 menu (even when ARA is enabled) Open the FX menu and search for Sync Vx – it will appear under the VST3 menu
