How to Identify the Correct SoundGrid Network Port

Last updated on: 12/13/2020 7:25:43 AM

All SoundGrid applications and driver require selecting a SoundGrid network port. Some systems will display a list of available network ports; follow these steps to identify the correct port.

SoundGrid is a ‘private’ network: in order to have a clean network stream, the SoundGrid network should not be used to run any non-SoundGrid applications. Using non-SoundGrid protocols on the same network that carries SoundGrid audio might result in audio drops, application freezes, and other unexpected results.

Windows 10:

  1. Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Ethernet tab.
  2. Click the new "Unidentified network". This opens a window that displays the physical address (MAC).
  3. Choose this port in your SoundGrid Application.

Mac:

  1. Go To System Preferences > Network.
  2. On the left hand panel - highlight the new "Self-Assigned IP" marked with a yellow dot.
  3. Click "Advanced," then the "Hardware" tab, which displays the MAC address.
  4. Choose this port in your SoundGrid Application.

    * If there is no "Self-Assigned IP" listing, check that the new device has "Using DHCP" selected in the Configure IPv4 dialog.

Once you have selected the correct network port, your SoundGrid application will display "Link Up" and identify SoundGrid devices connected to the network.
