How to Delete a Waves Plugin User Preset

Last updated on: 4/26/2021 10:13:26 AM

To delete a plugin preset you've created from the Waves preset menu, follow these steps:

Option 1: Delete the preset file from the User Preset folder.

  • Windows: C:\Users\Public\Waves Audio\Plug-In Settings \ *Plug-In name
  • Mac: System HD > Users > Shared > Waves > Plug-In Settings > *Plug-In name

Option 2:

  1. Hold CMD (Mac) or Ctrl (Win) while opening the Presets Menu. You will see “Delete” before each user preset name.
  2. Select the preset you want to delete. You will be prompted with “Are you sure you want to delete [preset]?” Delete user preset

PLEASE NOTE: Deleting a user preset is an irreversible action: you cannot undo it. Factory Presets cannot be deleted.

In V12, an additional preset browser has been added for fast preset searching, via the ‘Load’ menu. Instead of browsing manually through preset menus, you can now search presets by text, filter them by name, delete user presets and quickly audition your results. To learn more, please refer to the Waves System Toolbar user manual.
