Retain Sound Quality with Lower Bit Depths

features

24-bit audio doesn’t always end up as 24 bits. CDs use 16 bits, or material might be archived at a lower bit depth to accommodate a particular medium (like 20-bit digital audio tape), or to save space with non-critical media. However, reducing bit depth inherently leads to reduced quality.

To retain sound quality, IDR360° Bit Requantizer uses Waves’ Increased Digital Resolution (IDR) process for minimal loss of audio information when re-quantizing from higher to lower bit depths.

  • Re-Quantize to 24, 22, 20, 18, or 16-bit depths
  • Separate components for 5.0 and 5.1 surround
  • Also works with stereo buses as well as multichannel buses
  • Can re-quantize 32- and 64-bit floating point audio
  • Turn dithering/noise shaping on or off
  • Choose Moderate, Normal, or Ultra noise shaping
