In part 2 of this video series, Hollywood film music producer/composer Junkie XL (Terminator: Dark Fate, Deadpool) shows how he mixes bass to be punchy, big and exciting, to match the explosive drums in his session and not disappear in the mix.
Junkie makes heavy use of the API collection EQ’s and compressors to achieve his huge, cinematic sound, as well as phase manipulation tools to get the parts to feel like they’re wider than the speakers.
