2024 Update of StudioRack – Impact on SoundGrid Studio

May 01, 2024

In June 2024, we will update our StudioRack plugin chainer and the accompanying StudioVerse system, in ways we hope will enhance its value to you, our users. This next version of StudioRack will no longer support SoundGrid Studio. This means that the ability to offload plugin processing from StudioRack via SoundGrid Studio to a SoundGrid server will no longer be supported in future versions of StudioRack.

2024 Update of StudioRack – Impact on SoundGrid Studio

We realize that this transition will affect our studio-based SoundGrid users. We want to assure you that this decision was not made lightly and has followed careful consideration of users’ needs and our resources. If you are currently using StudioRack with SoundGrid Studio, we are committed to working with you to ensure you can continue your work in the smoothest way possible. To discuss how we can help, please contact Waves Customer Support at 1-865-909-9200 extension 2, or contact us here.

If you are using SoundGrid in the studio, here is what you will still be able to do starting from the next version of StudioRack:

  1. You will be able to continue using the current version of StudioRack (v14.21 or lower) in order to offload plugin processing (plugin versions v14.12 or lower) to SoundGrid. For this option, do not update the relevant Waves account to the next StudioRack/StudioVerse software, or to Waves V15 plugins which will be released later this year.
  2. If you have a multi-computer system with multiple licenses, you will be able to use the newly updated StudioRack/StudioVerse on one computer using one license, and the current version of StudioRack (for offload) on another computer using another license (but not both versions on the same computer / same license).

To contact us and discuss how we can help with this transition, please contact Waves Customer Support at 1-865-909-9200 extension 2, or contact us here.
