Before "going Hollywood," John put in many years as a session musician and recording artist. He owned and operated a studio in Maui with Steely Dan’s Walter Becker, and has collaborated with many esteemed artists including Buffy Sainte-Marie, Donald Fagen, and Willie Nelson.
In 2005 John mixed Michael Franti's film, "I Know I'm Not Alone" at The Plant, where he is currently working with the owners to expand film post-production capabilities at the facility. He recently did recording work and music for David Lynch's new film "Inland Empire," due out in the Spring of 2006. He's currently working on two new documentaries, one on the world of vintage guitars, the other a scenic about Marin County.
John has two new CDs coming out this year, "World of Hurt" by The Electric Blues Band and and a solo project, "Space Surfing."
