Thom Russo Header

Michael Jackson, Eric Clapton, Johnny Cash, Macy Gray, Diana Ross, Cher

Early in his career, Thom Russo experienced sessions with some of the giants in pop and R&B: Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Diana Ross, Cher, Babyface, and Prince. He quickly began developing a career stamped with deep diversity, both musically and culturally.

While beginning to frequently remix, in 1997 Thom worked on his first Grammy-winning track, Eric Clapton’s “Change the World,” which won for both Record and Song of the Year. Johnny Cash’s “The Man Comes Around” snagged Thom a Grammy nomination in 2002, while his work with Latin Rock superstar Juanes have resulted in an astounding 12 Grammy awards, Latin and Anglo alike, to date. He has gone on to work with other Latin powerhouses as Mana, Alejandro Sanz, and Aterciopelados, as well as cutting-edge newcomers like Spanish flamenco-hardcore artist Huecco.

In 2008, Thom produced violin virtuoso Lili Haydn's most recent record, a project bridging the gap between classical and rock, and introducing yet another genre to his extensive list of credits.

These days you can never tell where Thom might leave his mark: On projects with rock superstars like Audioslave; on soundtracks for Hollywood blockbusters, like Sum 41’s cut on Spider-Man; even on bona fide pop cultural phenomena like Jay-Z’s “99 Problems”.
